And this is the blessing of Judah:
and he said, Hear Lord the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let
his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his
enemies. (Deuteronomy 33:7)
We continue to look at the content of Moses’ prayer.
Like I said previously, may the Lord bring you to your own people in Jesus
name.
The prayer continues with “let his hands be sufficient
for him. Judah was an able bodied man with hidden potentials. When
we come to God we must realize that His grace is sufficient for us when we
trust. There are times I feel incapacitated when the evidence of sufficiency is
not visible. At such times I stop and take a look on the inside and remember
the Word of God and affirm what He says about me. This reminder gingers me on.
God has clearly stated in the first chapter of Genesis
that we are made in His image and created after His likeness. That means that
when He looks at you and I there are attributes of Him He expects us to
manifest as His children. God is Creator and he desires that whatever deposits
or potentials in us should serve as raw materials for us to work on and get
maximum result.
Sufficiency suggests or means that
that which is available is enough. The word suffice is a verb that means to be enough for a purpose or person.
This means that if I rephrase the prayer, it would read “let his hands be enough for him”. I don’t know about you
but I know I feel fulfilled when a need arises in my life and family and I can
conveniently handle it from the abundance of God’s provision without having to
run helper-skelter.
I have experienced
needs and I’ve seen several people when they are in need that is beyond their
capacity. It is not a funny matter. It keeps you on edge. God desires that our
potential should be able to suffice per time.
I pray that from this day that our hands will be
sufficient for us in Jesus name. May the Lord increase our capacity. May the
work of your hands bring tangible result. May your hands not suffer atrophy
(atrophy is a medical condition of losing flesh, muscle, strength etc. in a
part of the body because it does not have enough blood). It is said that givers
never lack. I wonder how possible it is for someone to be a regular giver when
you are regularly in lack. It is either your hand is not useful or you are yet
to discover the full weight of what your hands can do.
May the Lord open our eyes from today to discover our
full potentials so that we can truly be a blessing in Jesus name.
YOU WILL NOT
BE A LIABILITY IN THIS LIFE RATHER YOU WILL BE AN ASSET IN JESUS NAME.
