DON'T FORCE REMEMBRANCE! Click and read more.

On that night could not the king sleep and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. And it found that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh two of the king's chamberlains, the keeper of the door, who sought to lay hand on king Ahasuerus. And the king said what honour had been done to Mordecai for this? (Esther 6:1-3)

The story of Mordecai is not new to us all but we will take another look at this beautiful scripture again. The report of Mordecai's deed is a clear indicator of his personality. Mordecai had a good heart and fully dedicated to his job. He paid attention to detail. It is the attribute of being observant that made it possible for him to notice the wicked intention of his fellow palace colleagues. It is worthy to note at this point that as God's children we should be diligent while at our place of duty.

Mordecai gave the information that saved the king's life. If you ask me, that act should have shot him to stardom but that was not to be. The act of deliverance was simply recorded in the book of records and was eventually forgotten. It was as if it was not a major headliner. I can imagine this happening in our time. We will not hear the last of it. The act is likened to an individual saving the president. There will be press interviews, newspaper headlines and the likes. But notice Mordecai did not push it further than was necessary.

At this point I would say we should learn from this. It is not necessary for you to brag about your heroism in the lives of your friends or people you give help to. Sometimes I hear people make statements like" if not for what i did in the past, he would not be where he is." Do good and leave it for the Lord to reward you. One night the Lord himself took away the sleep of the king. The king was not awakened to plan a new war strategy but was awake because the set time for Mordecai's reward had come. Hallelujah! God knows the best to reward you.

Mordecai did not seek audience to remind the king that he was yet to show him favour. God is still in the business of putting your name on people's minds to remember you for good; even if they have to lose their sleep. Just continue in your good deeds and leave God to put you in their mind. If Mordecai had pressed on the king endlessly, it would have been said that he was to forward.Sometimes you don't have to force recognition from people. Joseph tried to force recognition (Genesis 40:13-14) from the butler and was forgotten for two years.

SOMETIMES FORCE CAN BECOME FORGET AND CAUSE YOU DELAY.
