And the king said what honour hath been done to Mordecai for
this? Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done
for him. (Esther 6:3)
Beautiful people of God we will look at this verse once again and glean the necessary lessons.
We all know by now that what do will always show the kind of people we are. Our
character is evident in our deeds. ‘By their fruits we shall know them’ is a
popular scripture we know and quote. We are in an era where people are tired of
hearing us talk about what needs to be done. It is what you do that makes
people take you seriously.
Mordecai was indeed a good and noble man. He had virtue oozing
out of him. This we see evident in the way he raised Esther who became queen. Mordecai
was also a strategist. He was not talkative in approaching the delicate matter
of treason. Bigthana and Teresh, the king’s chamberlain did not know that
Mordecai heard their plan from outside.
Rather Mordecai went
to report the conspiracy where it mattered. He made sure another didn’t take
the credit. When the deed was recorded in the chronicles, it was Mordecai’s
name that entered the books. We should learn from Mordecai at this point. He
was not a parrot. Some people just talk
too much and don’t know information management. We must learn restraint. Wisdom
is profitable to direct.
Mordecai did what was recordable. Make a tangible impression
as you go through life. Mordecai was vigilant at his duty post. “Seest thou a
man that is diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not
stand before mean men. (Proverbs 22:29)”. This scripture was literally
experienced by Mordecai.
BE STRATEGIC IN GOOD DEEDS. GOD REWARDS! BLESS YOU.
