Praise the Lord, O
Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion. For he hath strengthened the bars of thy
gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee. He maketh peace in thy
borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. (Psalm 147:12-14)
Praise the
Lord is a clear instruction that is easy to understand. Praise the Lord O
Jerusalem! Jerusalem is the city of our God. Jerusalem means foundation of
peace. If a place has a foundation of peace then praise is inevitable. No
matter what may happen peace is still the perspective of the Lord when it comes
to Jerusalem. Praise thy God O Zion. On Zion there is deliverance and holiness;
and the people possess their possession without hesitation.
“For he hath strengthened the bars of
thy gates;” that is
so beautiful to know. The bars of your gates speak of protection. The Lord
himself has strengthened the bars of your efforts to keep yourself safety. The
horse is made for battle but safety is of the Lord. Remember He that keeps
Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. It is the Lord that preserves your going
out and your coming in. The lord is the fortifier you need. So rest assured
that the Lord has a better understanding of the concept of protection than any
of us ever will. Remember He is the One that suspended the earth on nothing.
The One that gave the seas its boundary definitely knows how to draw the line
for our safety.
“He hath blessed thy
children within thee.” The children that the Lord has given us are for signs and wonders. Your
children and my children carry blessing and are programmed to excel. Taking it
further, the children within you include your unborn children. So you that is
pregnant or yet to have conception should bask in the understanding that even a
mere mental picture of you unborn children has capacity to deposit blessing in
them even before they come to be. You need to digest this for a while. Do not
allow anybody confuse or confound you that your children are at a risk of
failure. The Lord has the mind of blessings ab initio so you should celebrate
our God. He pays attention to every detail of our lives.
“He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.” I like this part that says that God makes peace in my borders. I like the word “makes” because it suggests to me that my God manufactures peace according to my needs. If the lord is the manufacture then I am confident that peace is inexhaustible in Him. Hallelujah! The Lord fills us with fine wheat. The Lord is interested in our satisfaction. I receive the filling of the Lord and I encourage you to claim that promise too in Jesus name.
