A SET TIME

To every thing there is a season, a time to every purpose under the heaven: (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

This scripture is very interesting. When you read further through the verses you see examples of things that show the evidence of time and seasons. However, human nature and desires suggests that certain things in life should be instant. This immediate expectation is evidenced in our tendency to be very impatient when things are not working out as planned. God says there is time for every purpose under heaven.

The sun will not shine at night because that is not the set time for it to shine. If the sun were to shine at night then people will not sleep. God is a God of balance who recognizes the need for us to rest. That is why he set a time for the rising and setting of the sun. I can imagine how this world would be if there was no provision for sunset.

If our God has said that there is time for everything then we should believe him and avoid microwaving some challenges when we come across them. There are people whose impatience has resulted in so much heart break all in the name of trying to help God because it seemed he was a bit too slow in acting. Never forget that he wrote the script of your life and he has the final say.
For instance there are people who entered certain business deals even when there was a leading from the Lord to hold on before venturing. The end result was deceit, fraud, heartbreak etc. Truly it is not easy; but remember one of the fruits of the Spirit is patience. God’s set time is never the same in man’s perspective. God works by purpose. Trust God enough to wait on him.
My Bishop says, “Waiting on God is the highest economy of time – Bishop Humphrey Erumaka.”
