Thou art my hiding
place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shall compass me about with
songs of deliverance. Selah. I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way
which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (Psalm 32:7-8)
What a
declaration by David the man after God’s heart. When you read from the
beginning of the chapter you will appreciate where he was coming from. David
had come to appreciate the Lord’s forgiveness towards him. He had experienced
the Lord’s protection. In verse 6 David said, “For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when
thou mayest be found: surely in floods of great waters they shall not come nigh
unto him.” It then continues in verse 7 with tis declaration, “Thou
art my hiding place;” Take a minute and say it repeatedly to yourself
until it sinks in. The Lord is truly our hiding place. A hiding place is
exactly what it is. A hiding place speaks of a place you can enter into and you
are covered. It is a place where you are hid and no harm can reach you.
The Lord has declared in Psalm 121
verses 5 through 8 that The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy
right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The
Lord shall preserve thee from evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall
preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for
evermore.
“Thou shalt preserve me
from trouble”. The
Lord will preserve thee from trouble indeed. Cast your mind back at times when
you ever found yourself in danger and the Lord showed up as usual. Thou
shall compass me about with songs of deliverance. Whether we
acknowledge or not you have had reasons to sing a song of His deliverance.
Whether it was deliverance from sickness, or from a robbery attack, or from an
accident or negative stories that almost damaged your testimony or reputation;
God has always showed up. I say to you that if the Lord has delivered you from
anything before, rest assured that he will continually do same whenever you
need it. Hallelujah!
“I will instruct thee
and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:” I like the choice of words here. “I will instruct you”. Itpoints to the
fact that an instruction is involved. An instruction is detailed information on
how to use or do something. Pause a while and look at that definition. God
himself is telling us the way he will operate with us. He says he will give you
and I detailed information and also teach me in the way you and I shall go. Wait
a minute! That is a prayer point staring me in the face. Lord open my ears and my eyes to receive direction in Jesus name. It
means I have missed it sometimes because I did not have clarity on the right
approach.
“I will guide thee with
mine eye.” I
love this God. After instructing and teaching us the way we shall go. He still
takes time to guide us with His eye. Somebody should be dancing by now.
GOD
HAS EYES ON YOU!
