To every thing there is
a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, and a
time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A
time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and time to build up; A
time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
(Ecclesiastes 3: 1-4)
Is it not
amazing to discover these interesting verses? The bible is truly the word of
God. It is full of inspiring words that form our lives if we pay attention to
its contents. It never ceases to amaze me when I hear people constantly whine
once they are faced with a situation that is not going according to their plan.
You know we have gotten so used to the sweet verses that have the beautiful
promises we desire to manifest in our lives.
But I want
to ask you have ever seen any piece of land that is not cleared, tilled,
planted on that brings forth the desired harvest of the farmer without any
effort of disfiguring the soil to makes a hole for planting? Have you ever
considered the fact that every beautiful house or skyscraper never looked so
good while in the early construction stages? So why do we move around with this
erroneous belief that life is beautiful all the way without process?
The truth is that the average human being
is really very impatient and does not like the concept of process.
As a person I would really love everything in
my life to be perfect but beloved I have come to discover it is not always. We
must have the good and the not so good times. The sweet times are the times we
celebrate, enjoy our accomplishments. The not so good is still a process.
Abraham had
revelation that he would be father of many nations but it did not change the
fact that he had to learn the lesson on patiently waiting on the Lord for His
set time. Joseph had dreams that he will have sheaves bow to him, he had dreams
that even the sun and moon will bow to him. Wow! Is that not a privilege to see
your future vividly? However those dreams did not stop “process”. If indeed you carry greatness in you then
you must submit to “process”.
Every baby that is born grows. There is the
teething phase that keeps the child uncomfortable but still there must be time
for teething. There must be a time to learn to crawl – even if the child keeps
falling down. The child must go through process. No matter how much you love
your little child, that little child must go through the process of walking. I
am going through process as I journey through life.
There is time for everything. I cannot seem to say it enough. There is time for everything. God is a God of process. Jesus came to earth as a baby, grew up in the house of a carpenter, and probably had to learn carpentry a bit either by practice or just observation. The reason is “process”. He had to understand and appreciate the beauty of transformation that goes on with a plain piece of wood from plainness to the beauty of a finished chair, table or any beautiful piece of furniture you can imagine. So while paying the price on the Cross, He truly understood the potency of process that would transform man from lost to redeemed to enjoy true beauty in God. Hallelujah!
