The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, yea, I have a goodly heritage. (Psalm 16:5-6)

The Lord is my portion. The Lord is also your portion. Whatever you think you have or whatever you can access is made possible by the Lord. The Lord keeps a close eye on His children and all that concerns us. He is also the portion of your cup. A cup is used to put water or liquid that can be taken to quench test when required. The cup is also used to pour in wine for celebration at occasions. The Lord will ensure that your portion in life that will bring reasons for celebration in your life will arrive in due time.

“Thou maintainest my lot.” Truly it is the Lord that maintains our lot. He maintains our share. There are times we struggle to retain or maintain what is rightfully ours. Sometimes it slips out of our hands when we least expect. But we need to be conscious of the fact that it is the Lord that builds a hedge around us for adequate protection. Except the Lord watches over a house, the watchmen will only be wasting their time. Unless the Lord builds a thing, the builders are wasting their time because wisdom for effectiveness comes from the Lord. When the Lord himself maintains your lot, nothing will be missing.

“The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, yea, I have a goodly heritage.” Because it is the Lord that is your portion and the one that maintains your lot, the lines just have to fall into pleasant places. Favour goes out before us because we are His children. Lines can fall into any place but because you are involved the lines are mandated to fall into pleasant places. Yes you will also declare that you have a goodly heritage. For each portion you acquire as victory, you will continually build what it takes to sail through life. Your portion will certainly become a heritage.

 
The things the Lord will do in your life will be so visible that the impact will have a monumental impact in your life. Your generation and generations to come will attest to what the Lord will evidently do. The fact that the Lord is the one watching over us his children to ensure that the lines of favour, goodness, lifting, good health, peace, wealth all fall into pleasant places for us is enough encouragement that will lift our spirits continually. Trust in the Lord continually. God has not failed previously and He has no intention of starting a failure trend with you. Get excited already. It is well with you in Jesus name.
