The Lord hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his
strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to corn to be meat for thine
enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for which thou
hast labored: But they that have gathered shall eat it, and praise the Lord.
(Isaiah 62:8-9a)
As I look at these verses I am already jumping with
excitement. The entire chapter 62 is a major breath of fresh air. The chapter
starts with these words, “For Zion’s sake will not hold my peace and
for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth
as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.” Our
heavenly Father is truly amazing. He says He will not hold His peace neither will He rest until righteousness goes
forth as brightness and the salvation as a lamp thereof. The Lord is careful to
say what He means. His word does not back to Him void.
Reading further into the chapter you will come across more
declarations from our loving father.
“The Lord hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his
strength.” This
verse starts with very strong words. The Lord himself is swearing by His right
hand which is also the arm of His strength. Have you ever found yourself in a court
room or have you been opportuned to watch a movie with a court scene? The
defendant or plaintiff usually raises their right hand and take an oath to
stand by what they say as being undeniably true. So imagine it for a minute.
Our King of glory himself took the witness stand and swore by himself. Hallelujah!
Somebody should be dancing around praising God already. The Maker and Creator
of all on the premise of love took the witness stand for you and I. I love Him
more and more.
The essence of these write ups is to draw our attention to
the awesomeness of our God and build unwavering confidence in Him. “Surely
I will no more give thy corn to corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons
of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for which thou hast labored: But they
that have gathered shall eat it, and praise the Lord.” The Lord says
surely and that means without an iota of doubt. He will not allow the labour of
your planting or your endeavours to be feasted upon by another especially your
enemies who feel they can succeed in intimidating you. The sons of strangers
will not drink your wine. You will agree with me that it is very painful for
you to make effort to put your best in your work or means of livelihood, only
for another to reap all where he or she did not sow.
Every serious and goal-oriented individual puts in their very
best and expects commensurate return in the field of life. Today God himself
has taken an oath that if such was your case previously; it will not be
permitted any longer. You will in fact, you must enjoy the fruit of your labour
and you will praise the Lord. Fulfillment is our reward in Jesus name.
