Blessed is every one
that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour
of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife
shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like
olive plants and about thy table. (Psalm 128: 1-3)
Clearly the
Lord states unequivocally that there is a blessing attached to fearing the
Lord. It is an engraved tag that inevitably triggers blessing. The blessing
extends to those that walk in the way of the Lord. For you to walk in God’s way
it means that the pathway is already defined. The directions for walking in the
Lord’s ways are found in the bible. Remember that this book of law should not depart
from our mouth rather we are to meditate on it day and night so that we are
careful to observe all that is written therein and our way will be prosperous
and we will have good success.
The path of
the Lord is defined in His word. It is like having the address of a friend with
the directions on how to arrive written on paper. As long as you follow the
directions you are sure to arrive at your friends place. Walking in God’s way
ensures that we arrive at the doorpost of blessing. I will eat of the labour of
my hands in Jesus name. You will eat of the labour of your hands in Jesus name.
The Lord says you will not be deprived of the reward of your labour. God is the
God of seed time and harvest. Happiness and wellness is also guaranteed. Your
family shall be fruitful. Peace shall dwell in your borders in Jesus name.
Fear God (i.e.
reverence) and walk in His way; that is what guarantees blessing indeed. His
promise when we fear him and walk in his way is that we will be fruitful in our
lives and family. The verse was specific in the instruction. Walk in God’s
ways. This suggests that there is already a clear path that must be identified
by us. His guidance is in his word and we need to search it out continually so
that we are well directed. If you are willing and obedient you will eat the
good of the land. (Isaiah 1:19)
THE PRODUCT OF OBEDIENCE IS ALWAYS FRUITFULNESS.
