He raiseth up the poor
out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among
princes and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the
earth are the Lord’s he hath set the world upon them. He will keep the feet of
his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall
no man prevail. (1 Samuel 2:8-9)
Throughout
God’s word, he takes time to build our confidence in him. He declares to you
that read that no matter how low life has pushed you, he has the ability and
capacity to lift you up. When he lifts you he makes sure that he doesn’t just
drop you off so that you
will not assume you have been left to chance. He will set you among princes to
inherit.
It is the
Lord that does the raising. It is like saying that the Lord comes down to our
level with an outstretched arm. You have seen heavy equipment being used to
lift things to a particular position. We can liken it to what the Lord does for
the poor. We know that the poor usually experiences lack and emptiness and
surely the Lord has no problem doing the raising. He possesses all that is
needed to cause positive change and effective positioning.
“He raiseth up the poor
out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill.” The dunghill is a place of waste and
is really smelly. God overlooks the stench and willingly reaches out to us. The
Lord is patient enough with us in our lowly estate that He stays with us
through the process of lifting. It is not an enviable position to be a beggar.
We have all been privileged to see a beggar before. Beggars are usually at the
mercy of those they are begging from. Usually the beggar is given the crumbs or
the least amount that the giver does not mind parting with. The beauty of the Lord's lifting is that he sets you among princes. you are a chosen generation.
Once in a while in life we find ourselves having to beg for the things we are trying to afford. The Lord has no intention of leaving us permanently in a beggarly state but it is also worthy to note that our attitude in whatever state we find ourselves is important. The wrong attitude has a way of prolonging your stay in situations. Hang in there no matter how bad it looks. Call upon the Lord and He will step in and turn the situation around for your good. God is the only one that can move an individual to an esteemed position to show that He is God. All the glory must be to the Lord.
